Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Prop Connect ("we", "our", "the platform") collects from users — owners/sellers, agents, buyers/renters, and administrators — and how that information is used.

1. Information We Collect
  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, address, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text).
  • Identity verification: ID type, ID number, and an uploaded photo/scan of a government ID, submitted voluntarily to obtain a "Verified" badge. This is only ever visible to you and site administrators.
  • Property listings: title, description, address, price, photos, and other details an owner or agent chooses to publish.
  • Inquiries: messages a buyer/renter sends to a property's owner or agent, including the contact details supplied with that message.
  • Usage and activity data: login/logout events, listing changes, and similar actions, kept in an internal activity log along with the IP address the request came from.
  • Profile photo: an optional avatar image you may upload.
2. How We Use Information
  • To operate core features: listing properties, browsing/searching, sending and receiving inquiries, and managing your account.
  • To review and approve identity verification submissions, helping reduce fraudulent or bogus accounts on the platform.
  • To moderate listings before they go public (admin approval workflow).
  • To maintain an audit trail of account and listing activity for security and troubleshooting.
3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only as follows:

  • A property's listed contact details (name, email, phone) are shown publicly on that listing so buyers/renters can reach the owner or agent.
  • An inquiry you submit is shared with the property's owner/agent so they can respond to you.
  • ID documents and verification details are visible only to you and site administrators — never shown publicly or to other users.
4. Third-Party Services

Certain features load resources from third-party services to function:

  • Map display and address lookup (Google Maps embed, OpenStreetMap tiles, and the Nominatim search service).
  • Generated placeholder profile photos, when no avatar has been uploaded (ui-avatars.com).
  • Fonts, icons, and interface libraries served from public content delivery networks.

These services may receive limited technical data (such as an IP address) as part of loading their content, subject to their own privacy practices.

5. Data Retention

Account and listing data is kept for as long as your account remains active. Deleting a property removes its images from storage. Deleting a user account removes that account's data; activity log entries referencing a deleted account retain only a name/role snapshot, not a live link to personal data.

6. Your Choices
  • You can update your name, phone, address, and avatar at any time from My Profile.
  • You can change your password at any time from Change Password.
  • Owners and agents can edit or delete their own listings at any time from their dashboard.
  • To request deletion of your account, contact an administrator.
7. Security

Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Identity documents are kept in a storage location that is not directly web-accessible and can only be retrieved by the document's owner or an administrator. As with any system, no method of storage or transmission is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy can be directed to the site administrator.
